Big Bear, CA, April 3, 2015 – Caltrans has started work on SR-38 to rehabilitate the Hathaway Creek Bridge near Barton Flats.The project will replace the bridge deck and approach slabs, and upgrade the pavement and bridge rails. The project will also improve drainage, grind existing pavement, and retrofit the bridge abutment with bolsters.
One-way traffic control will be necessary for the duration of the project, through early 2016. Flagging will be in effect until Monday, April 20, when a solar powered, one way traffic control signal will be in place and activated. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., however the one way traffic control will be in place at all times.
Motorists are advised to pay attention to all traffic signs and signals, and use extreme caution when traveling through the work zone. Delays are expected to be approximately 15 minutes, however delays could be up to 30 minutes depending on traffic flow and equipment movement. Motorists are encouraged to use SR-330 and SR-18 when driving to and from Big Bear to avoid delays.
