

San Bernardino Mountains, Ca, February 21, 2011, 1:33pm – This is a developing story. According to the Press Enterprise the occupants of the bus involved in the Highway 189 accident near Lake Gregory, are a church group from the Light of Love Church Group out of Pasadena, Ca. Traffic is currently being diverted in the area, and Highway 189 is closed 300 yards north and south of Lake Gregory to allow room for emergency personnel, and to utilize the Cliffhanger area as a landing zone for airships. The group on the bus consisted of 27 teenagers and adults. According to the CHP scanner all of those involved in accident will require medical attention. Airships are in the process of landing, and transporting patients. The coroner has also been requested, signifying there has been a fatality due to this accident.
Original Story: At approximately 11:50 this afternoon a bus carrying between 25-30 teenagers hit a power pole on Highway 189 in the Lake Gregory area. The collision caused the power lines to go down, the bus then struck a tree and is partially over the side of the road. According to the California Highway Patrol, multiple ambulances have been requested; Edison is on its way to cut power to the downed power lines to gain access to the bus. Approximately 10 teenagers are stuck on the bus at this time. As of 12:27pm emergency personnel began triaging those involved in the accident. As of 12:30 Airships were requested and are on their way to the accident. HWY 189 will be closed down 300 yards north and south of Lake Gregory, and the road will be used as a landing zone for the airships. We are not aware if these teenagers are local or not.
