Big Bear, CA, December 3, 2015 – Another great year for the San Bernardino GIVE BIG Campaign—a 24 hour online effort to raise funds for 261 non-profits serving San Bernardino County. This year’s campaign raised $251,481 with 2,931 donors. From midnight to 11:59pm on December 1, 2015, supporters of San Bernardino County nonprofits went online, connected with causes they cared about and made donations. Every donation made had a chance to receive a Golden Ticket. When a randomly selected donor was the lucky recipient of a Golden Ticket, their charity received additional prize money. In addition, the top organizations on the Leaderboard received prize money ranging from $500 to $10,000.
This year, the top four organizations on the leader board were all from Big Bear.
- 1 AAUW Tech Trek Camp for Big Bear Girls /448 donors raised $7,691
- 2 LIGHTHOUSE PROJECT INC /192 donors raised $10,046
- 3 BIG BEAR VALLEY EDUCATION TRUST/147 donors raised $8,131
- 4 FRIENDS OF BIG BEAR VALLEY /144 donors raised $3,280
The Ultra Super Golden Ticket receives a prize worth $10,000! Arts 4 Good will work with the apparent winner of this prize—Lighthouse Project, Inc., to develop six months of support in the implementation of a communications plan. This will help in improving their messaging thus increasing their capacity and sustainability. Organizations receiving more than $3,000 in donations will be eligible for the new $3,000 for $3,000. One lucky organization will receive this prize through a random drawing. This prize will be determined post campaign. Also, Supervisor James Ramos is providing $2,500 to the organization located in the 3rd District with the highest number of unique donors. This prize also, will be determined post campaign.
