Big Bear, CA, January 10th, 2016 – After reaching our lowest lake level of the season of 14’-7” on January 4, 2016, This past storm brought in a total of 849 acre feet in the lake which raised the level by 3”. That equates to 276,647,499 gallons of water added to the Lake.
It is too early to estimate what it really means but it already means we are better off than we were the entire winter season last year. Big Bear Lake level now is 14’-3” down from full and rising.
Also this weekend, Big Bear and over 150 other venues across the U.S. participated in an effort to set a record for the World’s Largest Ski and Snowboard Lesson on Friday.
Attempting to set the Guinness World Record would mean breaking a mark which stood at 594 for the largest ski lesson, both single and multi-venue, and 500 for the largest snowboard lesson, as Mother Nature and El Nino teamed up for the first significant winter storm for Big Bear Mountain Resorts, it was the perfect day to set a world record.
