Big Bear Lake, CA, August 1, 2012, 8:00am – The Big Bear Lake International Film Festival is pleased to announce that the 2012 recipient of the Community Appreciation Award is local leader Gloria Meade. During the festival’s Opening Night Awards Presentations at the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center, the Community Appreciation Award is given to an individual who has contributed greatly to the well-being of the Big Bear community. Previous recipients include Soroptimist Kathy Campbell, newspaper columnist John Grandi, and actress and singer Shirley Jones. Gloria has been involved with the Old Miners Day Parade, the Bear Valley Hospital District Foundation, the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce, and the Big Bear Cowboy Gathering. She now sits on the Board of Directors for Whispering Pines Estates Mobile Home Park and is a member of the Big Bear Valley Historical Society. This year, Gloria Meade will be honored at the PAC on the evening of September 14.
