Big Bear Lake, CA, September 30, 2011, noon – If you’re idea of fun is watching a scary movie in the dark woods, outside, where anything can happen, then you don’t want to miss the Saturday night outdoor screening of Sleepaway Camp (1983) at this weekend’s Big Bear Horro-Fi Film Festival®. Founded in 2009, the festival is held annually to recognize excellence in horror and science fiction films. The presentation of Sleepaway Camp concludes a day of Festival screenings and workshops at the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center, and follows the 10 pm “Haunted Cruise” on Big Bear Lake aboard the Miss Liberty. Sleepaway Camp has become a cult classic since its release 28 years ago. It tells the story of slightly disturbed and painfully shy Angela Baker, who is sent away to summer camp with her cousin. Not long after her arrival, things start to go horribly wrong. The film stars then 13-year-old Felissa Rose as Angela. Felissa is currently in production on Sleepaway Camp Reunion. She’s a judge at the Festival this year, and will be on hand to sign autographs and greet fans. An added attraction to the Festival, the Sleepaway Camp screening is $5 and can be paid onsite at the Festival. The event is included for “All Access” pass holders.
