Big Bear High School student Amanda Preston, the only adult among the four female students arrested for Thursday’s fight on campus, was arraigned in San Bernardino County Superior Court yesterday. Eighteen-year-old Preston had been booked into the Big Bear Jail following Friday’s arrest on felony counts of conspiracy, strong-arm robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and grand theft, after she and three other teenagers allegedly beat up another student, a 15-year-old female, and stole her cell phone. Preston appeared in court on December 15 via video from County Jail, and pleaded not guilty to all counts. A pre-preliminary hearing for Preston is set for Christmas Eve, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for December 29. The status of the other three arrested, two ages 15 and one age 16, will not be released as they are juveniles; following Friday’s arrest, they had been booked into San Bernardino Juvenile Hall, on the same four counts as Preston.
