Big Bear Valley, CA, April 1, 2014 – Sheriff’s deputies kept busy last Friday with at least two arrests for burglary.
Responding to a complaint of loud music at a vacation home on Lakeview Drive, deputies found a 53-year-old local man who had broken in, stolen several items then set up temporary residence. He remains in custody in lieu of $25,000. A Sheriff’s spokesperson pointed out that this arrest was made possible through observant neighbors who knew the owners of the home, and encouraged all citizens to become familiar with their neighborhood.
In a more serious case, deputies recovered stolen firearms and a runaway juvenile after serving a search warrant on Imperial Avenue. The stolen property from multiple victims also included gaming systems, a flat screen television and jewelry. The 27-year-old male suspect was booked on felony charges of possession of stolen property and lewd and lascivious acts with a minor; his arraignment is on April 2. The juvenile was returned to her father. Another resident of the Sugarloaf home was booked and cite-released for possession of drug paraphernalia.
