Big Bear Valley, CA, May 22, 2014 – Adding to the weather challenges were two accidents in the Big Bear Valley today.
Just before 10:30 a.m. a semi apparently stalled on Highway 18 just east of Paradise Way and blocked westbound lanes for several hours as company rep was sent from Landers.
Highway 18 was also the site of trouble on the opposite end of the valley. At about 1:30 this afternoon, the CHP reported that a big rig made a corner too sharply and got hung up on the rocks that line the road through Boulder Bay. The driver apparently had to unhook the rig from the trailer and leave the trailer in the lanes, partially blocking traffic and forcing motorists to drive into the opposite lane.
