Big Bear Lake, CA, November 14, 2013 – With thousands in the Philippines killed by Typhoon Haiyan and millions more running out of food, water and other essentials, local donations for victims are now being requested.
Staff at the RE/MAX Big Bear offices are collecting checks to submit to the Inland Empire Red Cross for relief efforts in the storm-ravaged Philippines. Donors should make checks payable to “American Red Cross” and deliver them to either RE/MAX office — 42000 Big Bear Blvd. or 42718 Moonridge Rd. — by this Sunday, November 17th so they can be hand delivered to the Red Cross on Monday.
Today the American Red Cross announced an initial $6,000,000 contribution in support of the global Red Cross response to Typhoon Haiyan. The funds will be used to distribute relief items, repair and rebuild shelters, provide healthcare and ensure access to clean water and sanitation systems.
