Big Bear, CA, July 5, 2013 – U.S. Congressman Paul Cook says there are accomplished women in his district who don’t get the recognition they deserve. He intends to change that.
Representative Cook serves California’s 8th District, which stretches along the state’s eastern border from San Bernardino to Bodie. He’s asking residents to nominate women who have given back to their communities in the District by July 19, 2013. Nominations will be accepted through his website at http://cook.house.gov/.
Cook will then host the first annual Women of Distinction Awards Ceremony on August 23.
Cook explained, “This event is an opportunity to recognize women throughout the district who have made significant contributions to their communities. It’s important that we honor these contributions, and I hope this will become an annual event.”
Anyone seeking more information should contact Rep. Cook’s Deputy District Director, Jeremy Smith, at (760) 247-1815.
