San Bernardino, CA, July 16, 2013 – With the Dorner manhunt just months behind us, residents of Big Bear are invited to a fun community event that will donate 20% of ticket proceeds to the families of Deputy Alex Collins and the late Detective Jeremiah MacKay. On July 20, the Inland Empire 66ers will play in sheriff-inspired jerseys adorned with MacKay and Collins patches, which will be auctioned off following the game.
The game begins at 7:05 p.m. at San Manuel Stadium (280 S. E Street, San Bernardino), after a helicopter brings Collins to the field to throw out the first pitch. But the gates open at 6:00 p.m. for Protect and Serve Night, featuring pre-game activities for the kids, a sheriff’s rodeo, K9 unit demonstrations, bag pipers and classic police vehicles.
Individual ticket prices range from $6.90 to $13.55. For more information or to RSVP, contact Adam Franey at (909) 495-7633 or visit the baseball team’s website.
