Fawnskin, CA, April 2, 2014 – Big Bear Cycling is hosting the Big Bear Time Trial of the 30th Redlands Bicycle Classic, the season opening event for the National Race Calendar and the United States domestic road cycling racing season. The organization is grateful for the community’s cooperation in the support of professional cycling.
Highway 38/North Shore Drive will be CLOSED to vehicles on Thursday, April 3, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., between Stanfield Cutoff to the Fawnskin downtown triangle.
The road will be OPEN to motorists between Stanfield Cutoff and Division, but from 9:00am–noon, but the southeast-bound lane will be crowded with riders warming up for the races.
The East Boat Ramp will be completely closed for boat launching on Thursday, but as a consolation prize, free launching will be offered at Big Bear Marina for this day only.
Spectators are welcome to park in the North Shore Elementary School parking lot, cross at the crosswalk, and walk to the race area via the Alpine Pedal Path. On the other end of the route, spectators will find excellent turnaround viewing as well as restaurants and shops in downtown Fawnskin.
