Big Bear Lake, CA, March 14, 2014 – The Big Bear Cycling Association (BBCA) announced yesterday that it has scheduled the 5th Annual Tour de Big Bear for Saturday, August 2, 2014. And at the request of riders, they’re adding a seven-day Big Bear Cycling Festival–the first of its kind in the Big Bear Valley.
The Festival will kick off July 26 with the Big Bear Mountain Bike Gran Fondo and Big Bear Grizzly 100, then offer group rides and events throughout the week. Remax Big Bear is returning as the title sponsor.
Tour de Big Bear is a timed race offering cash and prizes to top finishers. Courses range from 25 miles climbing 1300 feet, to a 100-miler with a 7,400-foot gain.
Weekend Events will include a cycling expo, a complimentary bike valet for registered riders, entry into the Fat Tire Beer Garden, and live entertainment.
BBCA President Craig Smith is happy with the growing popularity of the event, reporting, “Last year’s race was a sell out for the fourth consecutive year, with over 1600 riders.”
