Big Bear Lake, CA, February 21, 2014 – After nearly five years at their original location west of the Village, the Big Bear Valley’s only private school moved to new grounds this week. Singing Pines School has no religious affiliations, but it now occupies three large classrooms in the Gunther Center at Community Church by the Lake.
The school is partnering with the church to build a large playground, and in the meantime is taking advantage of the recreation opportunities provided by the nearby lake and two parks.
The school’s board of directors realized last year that a new location was needed to house the waiting list for Kindergarteners in the 2014-2015 school year. A few spots remain open for grades 1 – 6. The credentialed teachers at Singing Pines use the arts and nature to complement an emphasis on academic excellence and leadership development.
