Big Bear Lake, CA, February 1, 2014 – Even without the recent snowfall, our local ski resorts would’ve been busy this weekend, hosting special events on both days. Today, it’s the Peanut Butter and Rail Jam at Bear Mountain, Volcom’s amateur snowboard contest. This free event features multiple divisions for men and women of all ages, and the top 5 in each division qualify for the 2014 World Championships and a shot at a $15,000 purse. The Big Bear competition is free to spectators with lift tickets or passes.
Today and tomorrow, Women’s Edventures is offering ski and snowboard clinics, at both Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. The workshops include lunch, goodie bags, four hours of instruction, video analysis plus a personalized strategy for improvement. The team of female, professional instructors carry advanced certification in Alpine, Nordic and boarding to accommodate students of all skill sets at Lake Tahoe and at Big Bear Mountain Resorts.
It’s too late to join in this weekend, but you have until February 22 to sign up for the next Edventure, which is scheduled for March 1st and 2nd. For details, call (714) 469-6748.
