Big Bear Lake, CA February 2, 2013 – Liz Harris will be the featured speaker at the Democratic Club of Big Bear Valley’s next meeting, scheduled for February 5 at 6:30pm in the Municipal Water District Building (40524 Lakeview Drive).
Her talk will focus on two key Democratic Party values—education and conservation – specifically, the Big Bear Valley Education Trust. The non-profit formed in 2009 has already launched several initiatives that have impacted the region’s students and teachers. Last year the organization added the Pebble Plains Wildland Park concept to its roster of projects.
Refreshments will be served and an opportunity drawing held. Meetings are open to all and non-members are always welcome. For more information visit bigbearvalleydemocrats.org or email bbvdemclub@gmail.com.
Retired after 35 years in education, Liz brings to the valley expertise gained as a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent and community college district officer. Since becoming a full-time resident since 1996, Liz has served on the Big Bear Lake City Council — twice as mayor — and is influential in a wide range of community programs and organizations, both hands-on and as a board official.
