Fawnskin, CA, June 12, 2012, noon – The San Bernardino National Forest provided a “Fee Free” day for all visitors last Saturday. If you missed it, don’t worry, there are two more “Fee Free” days scheduled this year. The next one will be September 29 on National Public Lands Day, and after that, Veterans’ Day Weekend on November 10, 11 & 12. A National Forest Adventure Pass will not be required on those days for visitors entering areas that normally require a National Forest Adventure Pass. Forest visitors should remember that even though the Adventure Pass “fee” will be waived, other fees like campground, reservation and group site fees may still be applicable. Also remember, if you’re planning to visit the forest, always “Know Before You Go,” and contact the Big Bear Ranger Station & Discovery Center for information on current conditions.
