Big Bear Lake, CA, August 10, 2010, 12:00pm – This weekend will be the return of the 21st annual Big Bear Lake Antique Car Club “Fun Run” beginning Friday, August 13th to Sunday, August 15th 2010 typically drawing 15,000 spectators. Participants will begin to arrive for check-in Friday morning by 9am at the Bartlett Street parking lot in the Village. Vendors will also be set up in the Bartlett Street lot. Beginning around 7am Saturday morning, Village streets will be closed off to traffic to include Pine Knot Avenue, Village Drive and Bartlett Street for the “Show and Shine” that will begin at 9am to 3:45pm for spectator’s viewing of the cars. At 3:45pm, the participants will begin the “Fun Run”, one of the most treasured events of the weekend with a ride around the lake. Choose your spot along the route for viewing the classic automobiles that will begin the “Fun Run” at the west end of Village Drive heading west along Hwy 18/Big Bear Blvd to the Big Bear Dam through Fawnskin and the North Shore crossing back to the boulevard at Stanfield Cut-off. Sunday will be the drive through Awards Ceremony at 9am to 12:30pm in the Bartlett Street lot. There are 75 trophy categories that includes 50 specialty categories and 25 picks of show. A list of winners will be posted at 2pm. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase throughout the weekend for the famous engine giveaway made possible by Napa Auto Parts, Professional Products and Car Quest of Big Bear. This year’s engine is a Chevy 350, 4 bolt main with performance options too numerous to mention. Tickets are $5 each with the drawing on Sunday morning at the Awards Ceremony. Winner need not be present to win. The Village Business Association will also be conducting raffles throughout the day on Saturday at Bartlett Street. Kiwanis Club of Big Bear Valley will be selling food all weekend. Proceeds from the Big Bear Lake Antique Car Club “Fun Run” are donated to local Big Bear charities.
