Monterey, CA, August 14, 2012 – For most car enthusiasts there are only a few bucket list events that one can realistically attend, perhaps Daytona or Indy but for everyone who lives on the West Coast this weeks car events on the Monterey peninsula is an attainable automobile treat. With so many great car shows, races and auctions crammed into a few days it may be hard to pick your passion. Historic car races at Mazda Laguna Seca raceway, this year featuring Shelby cars and appearances by Peter Brock and Bob Bondurant. There are new and concept car unveilings, included this year is a special Carroll Shelby tribute car. The ticket for Quail Lodge car show on Friday will cost you more than your first set of wheels.
The Concorso de Italiano is the best collection of Italian eye candy on the planet combined with food to match. The Legends of the Autobahn, a newer event, shows off the best in classic German cars. Then each evening automobile auctions can be found all around the Monterey peninsula where watching is as much fun as bidding. But the one event that is the catalyst for the entire week is the Concourse d’ Elegance on Sunday where hundreds of the best antique and classic cars face off for the “Best of Show” title.
