At approximately 12:25pm this afternoon, electricity was lost in many areas of the Big Bear Valley. Upon investigation, Bear Valley Electric reported four power poles were downed on Baldwin Lake Road near the Baldwin Lake stables. Crews are working to restore power and expect that the majority of the valley will regain power shortly. For Baldwin Lake residents, the wait will be longer. Crews need to reset the power poles which is expected to take several hours. Baldwin Lake residents can expect power to be restored between 6 to 12 hours from 2:15pm, Monday, January 18, 2010.
