Art On The Lake Showcases California’s Talent

Big Bear, Ca, August 15, 2011 - The Arts Council of Big Bear Valley presents its 12th Annual Fine Arts Festival; “Art on the Lake” which  kicks off this Friday evening with an opening night artists reception from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Marina Resort. The reception is open to the public. On Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 5:00pm attendees can see exceptional photographs, paintings, silver and gemstone jewelry, hand made furniture, and sculptors.  Over 40 artists from across Southern California will be exhibiting and selling their work.  Art on the Lake will take place under the tent at the Marina Resort, and admission to the event is free.  In addition to the art on display, there will also be live entertainment featuring a barber shop quartet.  A percentage of sales at the event will go back to the Arts Council of Big Bear Valley, whose primary mission is to promote arts and music in schools by getting instruments and instruction for children in grades Kindergarten through 12h grade.  For more information about Art on the Lake this weekend go to www.bigbearartscouncil.org
