Big Bear, CA, December 6th, 2015 – The Big Bear Sheriff’s Station received information that a 16 year old male juvenile was making threats to cause injury and harm to persons at the local high school. Deputies made contact with the juvenile and determined the threats were not credible and that the subject did not have the means to carry out the reported threats. The male juvenile was determined to meet the criteria for Welfare & Institutions Code 5150 and was transported to a facility for evaluation.
The Big Bear Sheriff’s Station appreciates the public’s diligence in reporting this incident. In the wake of the mass shooting in San Bernardino on Wednesday, community members are encouraged to report any and all suspicious activity.
