Prepare For Winter – Get Snow Poles At City Hall

Big Bear Lake, CA, November 10, 2012, 6am – It’s time to begin preparing for the winter season, and the City of Big Bear Lake is dedicated to helping residents. Snow poles are available for purchase at the Civic Center at a cost of $12.50 per pole (+ tax). The Civic Center is located at 39707 Big Bear Blvd. and is open to the public Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Snow poles are only available to City residents. In addition to snow removal on streets, the City provides berm reduction services to Big Bear Lake residents. About one-third of the City’s snow removal costs this season will go towards berm reduction. Berms are reduced only after all streets are cleared and passable. Berm reduction varies based on weather conditions, amount of snowfall and the number of snowplowing vehicles in operation.  In severe weather conditions with snow levels of 16” +, services may not be provided until 24 to 72 hours after snow begins to fall. Call the City’s Snow Removal Hotline at (909) 752-2830 for general information on snow removal, berm reduction and current snow conditions.
