Big Bear, CA, January 25th, 2016 – On January 20, the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station received a report of counterfeit $20 bills being passed at K-Mart and CVS in Big Bear Lake. It was reported that two days prior, an unidentified male and female purchased a $100 reloadable credit card from K-Mart and then purchased an additional $300 worth of credit on the reloadable card at CVS using the counterfeit bills. The counterfeit bills were not immediately identified …to be phony, but were later determined to be fake when the cash registers were being processed.
The male and female were captured on video surveillance. The suspects were reported to be driving a newer dark grey Audi A3 with paper plates.
