Fred Miller Appointed Vice Chair for Department of Water and Power

Yesterday’s meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Department of Water and Power marked Fred Miller’s appointment as Vice Chair on the Board, which also includes Chairman Steve Foulkes, Bill Giamarino, Robert Tarras and Karen Dally, who was sworn in for her four-year term. During the July 28 meeting, Commissioners reviewed the proposed Commercial Rate Design and moved to go forward with the Proposition 218 hearing regarding water rate modifications. This hearing has been tentatively scheduled for October 6, and the DWP also plans to have at least two town hall meetings to review rate structures. The DWP meeting also included recognition of outgoing DWP Commissioner Barbara Willey, and a vote in favor of applying for membership to the California Municipal Utilities Association.
