The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has released the name of the female victim whose remains were found off Highway 330 on Monday afternoon, February 16, though the Coroner’s Division has not yet released results of an autopsy. (Additional reports indicate that her foot was protruding from the bag, which contained her body, off the side of the road between Running Springs and San Bernardino.) The woman has been identified as 28-year-old Cori Daye Desmond of Torrance, who was last seen on Sunday morning at 2:30am at the Back Street Lounge in Redondo Beach, after she completed work at Beaches, a bar in Manhattan Beach, on Valentine’s Day. The Sheriff’s Department tells KBHR that surveillance video from the Back Street Lounge indicates that Desmond was involved in a verbal altercation, though no suspects have been named at this time. The investigation into Desmond’s death continues, and anyone with any information regarding the incident is asked to call Sergeant Tony DeCecio or Detective Travis Newport at 387-3589. Those with information who wish to remain anonymous may call We Tip at 1-800-78-CRIME.
