Big Bear, Ca, June 27, 2011, 3:00pm – YMCA Camp Whittle, located in the Fawnskin area is hosting this weeks Chamber of Commerce mixer tomorrow/ today. The mixer will take place from 5:00 to 7:00pm, and is a family mixer, which means members and their immediate families will receive free entry, and non-members are only $5 each. YMCA Camp Whittle is a 126-acre camp nestled in the mountains behind Fawnskin. The road to Camp Whittle is a maintained dirt road, and Pam Scannell; the Chambers Membership Coordinator told KBHR there would be signs and people at the entrance to the camp. Camp Whittle will offer 1-mile hayride tours of the camp to attendees, and they hope to expose the community to the camp, and allow people to see the services they provide to under privileged children. Scannell also told KBHR that the camp will have archery available, as well as other surprise activities. All are encouraged to attend, bring their business cards and network the night away.
