California Highway Patrol officers had closed off a portion of Maple Lane in Sugarloaf in the 10am hour today [January 6], however this was only to allow for the safe transport of a modular structure. Bear Valley Unified School District bequeathed one of their now obsolete portable classrooms to the Big Bear City Fire Department, for use at the Paradise Training Facility used by the Valley’s firefighting agencies on Paradise Way in Big Bear City. That said, this morning’s brief road closures overseen by the CHP were to allow for the safe transport of the building from Big Bear High School in Sugarloaf to the Paradise Training Facility in Big Bear City. The move was completed by 11am.
