Wednesday Meetings Include RTAC, BBARWA, BVUSD; Dr. Eads Returns to BBARWA Board for Time Being

There are a number of public meetings taking place today, the first of which is the Regional Traffic Advisory Committee. The RTAC meeting begins at 9:30am at the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce offices at 630 Bartlett Road in the Village.
The Governing Board of the Big Bear Area Regional Wastewater Agency, which generally meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month, will instead meet in open session at 5pm today. The BBARWA meeting, to be held at 121 Palomino Drive in Big Bear City, will also include Vice Chair Dr. Don Eads via teleconference—though Eads had retired from his appointment, which extends through 2011, he will sit on the Board until County Supervisor Derry names a replacement appointee to represent the Fawnskin area. The BBARWA Operating and Capital Budget, for fiscal year 2009/2010, is expected to be approved at this evening’s meeting.
The Board of Trustees of the Bear Valley Unified School District will hold a Board Workshop at Big Bear Elementary School, with open session anticipated to begin at 6:30pm once the 5pm closed session portion of the meeting wraps. As today’s BVUSD meeting takes place at Big Bear Elementary, located at 40940 Pennsylvania Avenue, the school’s Principal Jeanette Hastain will make a presentation on the elementary.
And, lastly, the Planning Commission of the City of Big Bear Lake, which generally meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month, will not be meeting this afternoon, as there were no current items for the agenda.
