UPDATE: Christopher Dorner Manhunt

Big Bear, CA, February 7, 2013 – In the latest press conference by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department this evening at 5:30pm, it was confirmed that law enforcement had used search dogs to track footprints from the smothering truck discovered this morning in the San Bernardino forest near Bear Mountain but they did not lead to the suspect, Christopher Dorner, who is wanted for multiple killings this week.  San Bernardino Sheriff John McMahon stated that 125 officers were searching for Dorner through the snow and by air.  A door-to-door manhunt is underway in Big Bear Lake in search of Dorner.  Sheriff’s investigators will work through tonight, weather permitting, until he is found or it’s determined that he is no longer in the area.  San Bernardino County Supervisor, James Ramos, has confirmed that resources are committed to law enforcement for the apprehension of Dorner.  The badly charred Nissan Titan will be taken to the San Bernardino crime lab tonight for processing.  Dorner is described as a black male, 6 feet tall, weighing 270 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.  He is considered armed and extremely dangerous.  The manhunt prompted the Bear Valley Unified School District to implement a lock down of all of the valley’s schools as a safety precaution today.  According to Superintendent, Kurt Madden, a determination will be made prior to 5:00am Friday as to whether or not school will be in session tomorrow.  Tune in to KBHR-FM and visit our website at bigbearnews.com in the morning for the latest details.
