Trout Pond’s Future Is Unknown, But Looks Bright

Big Bear, Ca, February 1, 2011, 3:00pm – The Big Bear Municipal Water District will hold a regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Directors on Thursday, February 3rd at 1:00pm.  Exit Realty will make a presentation in honor if the Districts Trout Pond Purchase.  According to Scott Huele, General Manager for the MWD, there are “Many different ideas on how to make the trout pond property a special place for the people in the valley, in addition to how we can use that for the lake.”  Huele also told KBHR that there are thoughts that the Trout Pond may be used for fish rearing, a sediment catchments basin, and used for educating the public.  The MWD will be holding a – board workshop once the Trout Pond mapping is done, and the board will then make preliminary decisions, on the direction they want to go with the use of the property.
