The County’s Free Dump Day is this Saturday, April 11, and both Big Bear Disposal in Big Bear Lake and the Big Bear City Community Services District will be participating; both are allowing for free disposal of electronic waste and white goods from 8am to 3pm. In addition to yard waste, regular household trash, furniture and non-commercial tires (off the rim), both Big Bear Disposal and CSD will allow for the disposal of phones, microwave ovens, VCRs, computers, radios, clothes irons, space heaters, and appliances. In Big Bear Lake, residents should take their dump day items to the Clean Bear Site #1, located at 41970 Garstin Drive; East Valley residents can dispose of items at the Paradise Maintenance Yard on Paradise at Grenfall Road in Big Bear City. Hazardous household waste, regardless of residential location, should be taken to the hazardous waste collection facility at 42040 Garstin Drive, which will be open from 9am to 2pm on Saturday; hazardous waste includes items such as used oil, paint products and household batteries. Questions on this Saturday’s Free Dump Day can be directed to Big Bear Disposal at 866-3942 or CSD at 585-2565.
