Big Bear Lake, CA, July 19, 2012, 7:45am – (UPDATE) – The Coroner has released the name of the man who died in Tuesday’s auto accident. The San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department received a 911 call reporting a vehicle that rolled over and landed in Baker Pond in Big Bear City. Deputies found a 2003 Saturn upside down in about 3 feet of water. The passenger, David Aroian, a 22-year-old resident of Apple Valley, was flown to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and was pronounced dead on July 17 at 6:34pm. The San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the incident.
[Original Story] Big Bear Lake, CA, July 17, 2012, 8:00am – Last night at about 10:15pm a vehicle flipped over near Stanfield Cutoff and ended up in three feet of water in the marsh. Tiffany Swantek at the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station says it was a single vehicle accident. Emergency personnel responded to a report of a vehicle that was partially submerged. Two men were airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, and the CHP is investigating the accident. No other details are available at this time.
