Celebrate the end of tax season on Wednesday, April 15th at Big Bear High School’s Booster Club’s “Tax Day Soiree” fundraiser at Nottingham’s Friar Tucks Tavern from 5 to 9pm. The community is invited to enjoy an evening of music, dancing, door prizes, appetizers, a no-host bar and silent auction to help raise funds to complete the renovation of the high school Quad. The suggested donation is $10 per person to cover the cost of appetizers and opportunity drawings. Mindful of the difficult economy, many auction items are goods and services that people always need to buy. Proceeds from this final fundraiser for the Quad project will complete the $50,000 commitment that was made by the Associated Student Body. This amount represents 1/8th of the total cost of the project. The Bear Valley Unified School District committed significant funds this past fall to make the project a reality. Although the high school underwent a recent remodel and expansion using Measure Q bond money, the Quad was not initially included in the project’s planned renovations.
