
Big Bear, Ca, March 9, 2011, 12:00pm – On Wednesday March 2, deputies responded to a call of a sex crime against a child. According to the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station the investigation took several days and included execution of a search warrant at the suspect’s residence. Investigation of the matter led to the discovery of nude pictures of the suspect on the victim’s cell phone, as well as sexually explicit text messages. Following interviews with various involved parties, Bradley Matheny, a 47-year-old resident of Sugarloaf, was arrested and booked into the Big Bear Jail on felony charges of sexual intercourse with a minor child under the age of 16, sending harmful matter with the intent of seducing a minor child, lewd and lascivious acts with a minor child, and oral copulation with a minor child under the age of 16. Bradley Matheny is currently being detained at West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $250,000 bail. A court hearing is set for March 15 at San Bernardino County Superior Court.
