Big Bear, Ca, October 20, 2011, 1:00pm – Sugar Pine Bake Shop is hosting a Cupcake fund drive for Breast Cancer Research tomorrow from Noon to 6:00pm. Head baker and owner of Sugar Pine Trish Gordon invited everyone to come and get a cupcake. “We’ve all been touched by breast cancer in some way, so please wear your pink and denim and have a sweet.” Said Gordon. The cupcakes will be normal price, but all proceeds from cupcakes sold will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Last year Sugar Pine raised over $400.00, and hopes to do so again this year. The event will be held at the main bakeshop located at 40191 Big Bear Blvd, next to the Azteca Grill. Sugar Pine Bake Shop also participated in the Artful Bra contest being put on by the Soroptimists of Big Bear Valley. The contest has business, organizations, and individuals decorate bras, which will be auctioned off this Sunday, with proceeds to help women without insurance get mammograms. Sugar Pines Bra is covered in edible decorations, including chocolate covered gingerbread and fondant sequins. Stop by Sugar Pine between Noon and 6pm on Friday, October 21st, get a cupcake or two and help support Breast Cancer Research.
