Big Bear’s fifth annual Walk MS, in support of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, is just three weeks away and already over 50 teams have signed up to represent the Big Bear Valley. Since the first Walk MS in 2005, Big Bear has generated over $300,000 in support of the fight against multiple sclerosis and, this year, the Moose Lodge and Lions Club hope to raise $75,000 for MS research and treatment. This year’s local theme is “Stayin’ Alive with Walk MS Five” for the event on April 18, which launches from North Shore Elementary School and onto the Alpine Pedal Path along Big Bear Lake’s North Shore. As in years past, the Big Bear Marine Corps Detachment 1038 Color Guard will lead the walk, which begins at 11am, and is followed, back at North Shore, by family festivities including game booths, prize drawings, plenty of food, and music by DJ Happy. To register for the April 18 Walk MS, call 800-344-4867, or visit the Walk MS website.
