Big Bear, CA, May 19, 2013 – Last night, Soroptimist International celebrated 20 years of their popular and profitable “Man About Town” campaign and crowned this year’s “Man About Town” at the finale celebration. After weeks of fundraisers, the three candidates including La Dolce Vita business owner, Bryan Bianchi, Bear Valley Unified School District Superintendent Kurt Madden and Fire Chief Jeff Willis each performed their final skit to the sold out event at Northwoods Resort. The total sum of money raised this year was an astonishing $107,843.00 along with the announcement of Jeff Willis as “Man About Town 2013” for raising the most money. The evening consisted of a presentation of the past 20 years of “Man About Town” events and all of the past and present candidates in attendance were honored on stage. Soroptimist will use the proceeds from this year’s event to support the “Stop Teen Violence” campaign created by Soroptimist. The total sum of money raised over the last 20 years was announced as $1,524,953.00.
