Big Bear News – Big Bear Lake, CA – UPDATE: 1:30pm: The small vegetation fire that started at approximately 11:21 am on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 west of Snow Summit, now has a hose lay around the the fire and is in the mop-up stage. Thanks to quick response, the fire remained at 1/4 acre with resources from both ground crews and air support.
12:00 noon: A small vegetation fire ignited just west of Snow Summit off of 2N10 earlier this morning on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. Ground crew units are at the scene as well as the use of the Helicopter 534 which will be taking water out of Big Bear Lake to combat the fire. The Snow Fire is at approximately 1/4 acres with a slow to moderate rate of spread. Currently, fire crews have completed a retardant line completely around the fire.
