Big Bear, Ca, December 30, 2010, 12:00pm – Last night when temperatures dropped into the single digits, a tree fell in the Fawnskin areas onto power lines, leaving an isolated section without power for a short time. Bear Valley Electric Crews have since fixed the problem and have moved onto another downed tree on Mill Creek Road. The downed tree fell into power lines, and a small section of Camp Cedar Lake and a few lease properties are without power at this time. BVES Crews are currently working to fix the problem. The flickering and power surges that are happening valley wide is due to a problem with the Edison power line, that provides power to the whole valley. According to Bear Valley Electric Edison crews are working to correct numerous problems in the power line, which is taking some time due to crews having to access the line by snowcat and on foot. There is not an estimated time of when the Edison line will be fixed.
