In addition to this being Blue Ribbon Week, during which all are encouraged to support our law enforcement, May 14–18 is also recognized as National Ride Your Bike to Work Week, in an effort to reduce pollution and promote good health. During Ride Your Bike to Work Week, drivers are reminded to share the road with cyclists. Within the Big Bear Valley, there are now 30 miles of Class 3 routes established between the City of Big Bear Lake and the East Valley, including Big Bear City. For a map of Valley bike routes, the Big Bear Valley Trails Coalition has produced over 5,000 maps, which are available, free of charge, from a number of locations throughout Big Bear, including the Visitor Center on Bartlett Road, the Big Bear Discovery Center on the North Shore, and the studios of KBHR Radio in the airport terminal building in Big Bear City.
