Big Bear Lake, CA — The San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters has already been hosting information seminars for potential candidates planning to run for office in the November General Election and, come July 12, the City of Big Bear Lake will make available candidate filing papers. The City has three seats up for election on the City Council, which includes Mayor Liz Harris and Mayor Pro Tem Bill Jahn, both of whom were re-elected for four-year terms in 2008. The remaining three seats on the Council, currently held by Rick Herrick, Michael Karp and Darrell Mulvihill, are up for election, and the only requirement for this office is that candidates must be a registered voter and reside within the City of Big Bear Lake. Candidates’ filing papers are due by 5pm on Friday, August 6, and the City Clerk will be available to assist with paperwork; appointments are recommended by calling the City at 866-5831.
