Though students within the Bear Valley Unified School District have only had three school days in the last couple weeks, given federal holidays and snow days, today will be a minimum day. Today’s minimum day had already been calendared in to the school schedule, to allow for teachers’ strategic planning. Make-up school days for snow days used on February 9, 10 and 17 have not yet been scheduled, though district officials say they are working on it. The three make-up days that were on the calendar for this school year are being used for December’s three snow days. Superintendent Carole Ferraud, at last week’s public Budget Advisory Committee meeting, expressed the importance of student attendance, as BVUSD funding is contingent on Average Daily Attendance—so you can do your part in helping with the school district budget by sending your children to school when in session.
