Big Bear, Ca, February 13, 2012, 3:00pm – This past weekend brought a little snow to our valley, along with some ski races. The Saturday Night Race League held their second race for the 18 and over crowd, with more racers showing up to participate in the series that helps support the Snow Summit Race Team. Kelly Kai Tokanaga, who races for Snow Summit as a J1, was the fastest skier of the night at the age of 18 with Wade Reeser and Thad Epting taking 2nd and 3rd. In remembrance on Stephanie Murphy who recently passed, her friends Kim Williams, Tracy Dowty and Tiffany Burton created Team Steph and raced in her memory. On Sunday the 3rd Goldsmiths Race took place with 14 year old Evan Williams bringing the fastest time of the day with a combined time of 1 minute and 15 seconds. Other winners in their respective categories were Mark Millson, Elliott Lebby, Sarah Auer, Chase Dowty, Elle Williams, Alec Burton, Mckinley Warren, John Boucher, Susan Kendell, Eugene Cleary, Granite Shelton, Trinity Dostrow, Devon Garber, Haley Hoskins, Jonas Simko, Makaela Baptista, Scarlett Brigham, Eric Miller, Sierra Kim, Nate Williams and Charlotte Miller.
