The Rotary Club of Big Bear Lake has already started sharing in the holiday spirit, as last week they hosted their annual holiday luncheon for Valley seniors. The event was well-attended, as 526 seniors enjoyed the free luncheon at the Big Bear Senior Center last Wednesday. Rotarians are now looking to brighten the Christmas season for children, as plans are underway to coordinate home visits with Santa Claus. Since 1965, the Rotary Club has arranged for Santa Claus, gifts in hand, to visit families—both residents and visitors—at their homes. Santa will be in Big Bear next Thursday through Saturday (December 17, 18 and 19) and available for visits in the evenings, while he takes a pre-holiday break from the North Pole. To coordinate an in-home visit from Santa Claus, you can call his holiday helpers at any of the following numbers: Sotheby’s Premier Properties at 878-4214, Little Green House Florist at 866-5511, Big Bear Productions at 584-2699, and (after 5pm) All Protection Alarm at 866-6586. Reservations are necessary for each visit and though calls will be taken through next week, Rotarians suggest that families call sooner rather than later to secure their special Santa visit.
