Big Bear, Ca, February 4, 2011, 8:00am – Every year the Rotary Club of Big Bear Lake and its High School Interact Club proudly host what is referred to as “International Weekend” in which foreign exchange students representing Rotary Districts from San Diego to San Luis Obispo come to Big Bear to enjoy skiing and/or snow boarding. This Weekend is International Weekend, and 29 students from foreign countries will be coming to the Big Bear Valley to enjoy our mountain landscape and activities. The students arrived Thursday night, and are being housed with high school members of the local interact club for the three nights they are in town. The exchange students will be spending time at Big Bear High School on Friday, talking to classes about their experience as a foreign exchange student. On Saturday the exchange students will get to go skiing or snowboarding, and in years past one or two of the exchange students have never seen snow, and it is very fun and rewarding for everyone involved to see. The Rotary Club of Big Bear Lake and the Interact Club are happy to sponsor this event and to create lasting memories for the many exchange students involved. It is a weekend of fun and camaraderie for all involved.
