Big Bear Lake, CA, February 26, 2014 – An arraignment hearing is set for today following a local robbery at 2:30 a.m. on Monday. The victim, Dylan Diego was walking home from a friend’s house near Mill Creek Road when he was reportedly confronted in the roadway by two 21-year-old Big Bear Lake residents, Nicholas Wardlaw and Freddie Chavez III.
Diego says he was held at knife point by the suspects, who fled with his ATM card and other personal property.
Deputies responding to Diego’s 911 call located the suspects nearby and booked them into the Big Bear Station Jail on felony charges of PC 211 – Robbery. Wardlaw and Chavez remain in custody at West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $100,000 bail each. Suspect Chavez is also on felony probation and may face additional charges.
