During the July 1 meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Big Bear Lake, a proposal by Urban Housing Communities, to construct a 42-unit affordable apartment complex on 2.6 acres at 737 and 773 Knickerbocker Road, was reviewed during Public Hearing Items. The Planning Commission asked city staff and the developer to incorporate changes to the proposal, and those modifications include the development a good tree management plan, adequate parking, a sidewalk along Knickerbocker, and more on-site storage; the Planning Commission also moved to continue the Public Hearing to Wednesday, July 22 in a meeting to be held in Hofert Hall at 1:15pm. The developer will, in the meantime, hold a public meeting to discuss the affordable housing project. As noted here earlier, this meeting will be held tomorrow morning (July 18) at 10am at the Knickerbocker Mansion at the southern end of Knickerbocker Road in the Village area.
