The Planning Commission of the City of Big Bear Lake holds two Public Hearing items during this afternoon’s regular meeting, which takes place at 1:15pm in Hofert Hall in the Civic Center. The first hearing is with regard to a proposal to subdivide the 29,000+ square foot property owned by Verizon at 560 Bartlett Road into two parcels, though the existing office building and telecommunications building are to remain intact. The second hearing, as applied for by Linda Ricchiuti and Kent Stalcup, is to demolish two buildings at 645 Pine Knot Avenue (between United Wood Craftsmen and Blondie’s), to construct a new 1,300 square foot building, and remodel two remaining buildings for the purposes of establishing retail, bakery and office uses, which altogether would total 5,581 square feet. Linda Ricchiuti Stalcup tells KBHR that the family plans to open Copper Q Grill, which would include a bakery and restaurant in the Village, as well as a demonstration kitchen.
Update: Both of these items were approved on September 16, and are now in their 10-day appeal waiting period.
